IV therapy is the practice of administering nutrients directly into the venous system. By adding nutrients straight to the blood, we are able to skip the digestive system and achieve therapeutic plasma concentrations that are not possible through diet or oral supplementation.

Vitamin infusion IV’s packed with vitamins and minerals designed to help improve your overall health and wellness.

IV Therapy Facts & Questions

Why IV Therapy?

In order to function optimally and help fight disease, the body needs nutrients. In order for nutrients to do their thing, they must first be properly absorbed. Absorption is key! You can eat the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, but if you are not able to breakdown, process and absorb all the good stuff from these food, your body will not be able to function at its best. With IV therapy, we skip the digestive process and add nutrients straight to your blood. By doing this, we can achieve serum concentrations not obtainable with oral or intramuscular administration.

How long does a drip take?

IV Therapy appointments are usually 45 minutes long, but depending on the size of your vein, this time frame may be shorter. On average, IV drips usually take about 25 minutes.

What do I need to do before receiving an IV?

We require our patients to have eaten within 3 hours before getting their IV, and have consumed 1L of water.

Is receiving an IV painful?

At PHG, we use very small needles to connect the IV. Once the Doctor has gained access to the vein, the needle is removed and only a small, plastic tube remains in the vein for the duration of the drip. During the drip, the only sensations you may notice are a “vitamin-taste” in your mouth, and temperature changes.

How often should I come in for an IV?

In order to obtain optimal plasma levels of nutrients, 4 weekly treatments are recommended, followed by one treatment every 4-6 weeks as maintenance.
